Information for the use of cookies
1.1 Purpose of using cookies

The site uses some cookies to make its services easy to navigate and use the web pages efficiently. The cookies used also allow us to improve the service provided to users, making their use more effective and / or enabling certain features. The pages of the e-learning services use a set of cookies, normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website, indicated in the paragraph "used cookies"; other cookies, on the other hand, could be installed and integrated into the site by a user if he / she inserts, for example, graphic components of a user interface of another program, which has the purpose of facilitating the user in interacting with the program itself (e.g. Youtube, Facebook, etc.)

1.2 Cookies used

The site uses two types of cookies: technical cookies and analytical cookies:

Technical cookies

The site uses technical cookies managed directly by the site. More precisely

  • Technical session / navigation cookies strictly necessary to allow navigation by the user and in the absence of these cookies, the website may not function properly. The use of session cookies (which are not stored permanently on the user's computer and disappear when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow the safe and efficient exploration of the site. The session cookies used on this site avoid the use of other IT techniques that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of user navigation and do not allow the acquisition of the user's personal identification data.
  • Functional technical cookies used to improve the browsing experience of web pages according to a series of selected criteria. In particular, they are used to keep track of some preferences expressed by the user (e.g. language information)

Analytical cookies

  • Analytical / monitoring cookies used to collect information on the use of the site. Specifically, they are used to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site. The site manager will use this information to perform anonymous statistical analysis in order to improve the use of the site and to make the content more interesting and relevant to the wishes of the user. Analytical / monitoring cookies can be disabled without any consequence on site navigation. To disable them, see the next section "How to disable cookies". Personal data are deleted immediately after the related statistical processing.

  • "Anonymized" analytical / monitoring third-party cookies

The site uses third-party analytical cookies for which the third party has undertaken to use cookies limited to the provision of the service, as well as to store them separately and not cross-reference them with information it may have. In particular, the site uses:

  • Google Analytics, an analysis tool of the company Google, Inc. that allows the University to obtain anonymous and aggregate statistics, useful for optimizing the sites and services offered. The University has activated a technical tool, suggested by the third party, to obtain the masking of the IP address and to allow the anonymization of all users' IP addresses. IP masking or anonymization takes place as soon as the data is received by the Google Analytics collection network, before any storage or processing takes place for the generation of statistics on the use of the web portal. Google Analytics anonymizes the address as soon as this is technically possible in the passage upstream of the network where the data is collected. For more information, see the Google Analytics IP Anonymization section or visit the Security and Privacy Overview page.

Analytical / monitoring cookies can be disabled without any consequence on the navigation of websites: to disable them, see the next section "How to disable cookies".

The site can make use of elements (images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains, etc.) that reside on servers other than this site.

1.3 Cookies that may be installed on some pages of the Service

Social Media

This type of cookie integrates features developed by third parties within the pages of the Site such as icons and preferences expressed in social networks. An example are the "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the host site page. The most common use of social plugins is aimed at sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of the information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relevant information which please refer to.

1.4 Third party websites and services

The site may contain links to other websites that have their own privacy policy. The site operator is not responsible for the data processing carried out by these sites.

1.5 How to disable cookies

To disable all cookies

It is possible to deny consent to the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on your browser: unauthenticated navigation on the site will still be available in all its features.

To disable third party cookies

The deactivation of third-party cookies is also possible through the methods made available directly by the third-party company owner for said treatment, as indicated at the links shown in the paragraph "third-party cookies".

To disable only Google Analytics cookies, you can use the opt-out add-on provided by Google for the main browsers. In this way it will also be possible to use the online services of the websites in question.

To delete cookies already stored on the terminal

Even if the authorization to use third-party cookies is revoked, before this revocation the cookies may have been stored on the user's terminal. For technical reasons, it is not possible to delete these cookies, however the user's browser allows them to be deleted from the privacy settings. The browser options contain the "Clear browsing data" option which can be used to delete cookies, site data and plug-ins.
